Rainbow Foundation was formed in July 2016, to support the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) community in Sunderland. In recent years the organisation has grown to provide services for LGBT+ people across the North East of England, with services operating from their base at the Pride Media Centre in Gateshead, as well as within communities across the region.
The organisation supports LGBT+ individuals to reach their full potential, by addressing inequalities prevalent within communities in the region; from accessing health services, to reporting discrimination.Ryan Houston, Founder & Chair
The organisation is voluntary-led and relies on the generous donations made by individuals as well as funding provided by grant providers for key project work.
The organisation has continued to go from strength-to-strength in recent years, led by a fantastic management and volunteer team. The growth of the organisation has enabled more people than ever to access support for their needs and to live enriched lives. I am incredibly proud to act as a figurehead for the organisation in my role as Patron, and look forward to continued success for the organisation.Arnie Tylor, Patron
